VW camper
I saw this in the distance as I drove past. As usual I drove a couple more miles down the road before I realised that there was a picture here. I turned round, parked up by the fence, got the 16mm camera out and looked through the zoom lens to see if anyone was at home. It was about 300 yards from the road and I couldn't make it out too clearly. I chanced it, I packed a bag with the 6x7 camera and a couple of backs, just one lens and the light meter. I was packing light.... ready to run back to the car if I had to. Once you've climbed over someone's fence you're more alert as to what's going on around you. You're more aware that people driving past are watching you maybe through curiosity, maybe because they know the land owner, or maybe because there's nothing else out there to look at.
I took a number of shots at this windy and deserted location. The only sounds being the wind blowing through the vehicle shells, the occasional wagon driving past in the distance and the pages of a discarded mechanics magazine violently fluttering in the wind. The magazine was dated 1987.
